It’s all systems go for Expo Mom 2022 happening this weekend (April 23 to 24)—on ground at Bonifacio High Street and online via Facebook Live.
We’re launching this year’s “Your Home, You’re Home” theme by tackling topics that are, well, close to home—pregnancy, conscious parenting, family health, home design and organizing, work-life balance, mompreneurship and so much more.
Day 1
Many young kids have been living in a pandemic bubble over the last two years and are seeing the outside world for the first time. On Day 1 of Expo Mom, we’ll be hearing from two moms—Finina Tugade-Castillo, co-founder of several startups in the fields of tech, education, and travel, and Anj Dinglasan, co-founder of @zenutrients and @maglarotayo about this interesting topic. How do we help our young ones transition into the outside world in the new normal?
In relation to this, a segment highlights the importance of keeping our families safe and healthy in this pandemic. We will be learning about importance of immunization from Adolescent Pediatric Medicine Specialist Dr. Natasha Ann R. Esteban-Ipac and hearing the experiences of mommies Icel Ragudo, Iam Serrano, and Louise Fandino Santos.
The discussion shifts to solutions to our design dilemmas at home by mid-afternoon. Freelance interior designer and first-time mom Stephanie Dodds will share tips on how we can turn our house into a home for every member of the family.
During the latter part of the afternoon, Dr. Camille Abaya, a fellow at the Philippine Obstetrical & Gynecological Society, will give her expert insights on what pregnant moms need to know—what to expect during labor, delivery, and even post partum.
What do we serve our family to keep their immune system strong? How can we protect your kids when they’re picky eaters? Pediatric and adult Allergist and Clinical Immunologist Dr. Miggy Villanueva and blogger-moms Din Bautista and Alexa Gutierrez will show different types of food that can maintain a healthy body and a happy tummy with the help of Scott’s.
The last segment, courtesy of PLDT, will focus on family and work life. Moms Meryll Dy-Lim, Geraldyn Perez-Chua, Kim Solon-Dy, Joy Lim-Astilla and Paola Loot-Bronfman will be sharing with host Tiffany Tuazon their personal experiences on effectively juggling these two important aspects of mom life.
Day 2
On Day 2, discussions turn to an important, yet sometimes neglected, aspect of motherhood—self-love. Certified Self-Love Solutions Teacher and Certified Transitions Writing Coach Leah Eriguel will talk about its importance and how moms can cultivate and practice self-love.
The pandemic may have derailed some of our plans. But it has also presented a range of opportunities, as can be gleaned from the stories of our Expo Mom Mompreneurs. Bento artist and momfluencer Kaye Catral will talk to some of them and delve into their inspiring stories of resilience. This discussion will surely be helpful for aspiring mompreneurs.
It can be challenging to nurture our creativity when we’re busy juggling work, family, and responsibilities around the house. In another segment, Jeannie Castillo, artist and FLOW Master Jo Uygonco, Kindermusik Phils director, and Siya Daryani, founder of performing and events company OneTwoStep, will share how they harness their creative energies while trying to be the best mom to their children.
The last talk is about building effective habits as a family. Certified Conscious Parenting Coach Kit Malvar Llamas will impart her expert insights on handling our emotions well, and teach us to make more mindful decisions in raising our kids through self-improvement.
