Like most moms, we’re always looking for ways to save on electricity costs. We close the lights when there’s nobody in the room and unplug appliances when not in use. We have also taken to replacing our fluorescent light bulbs with more energy-efficient and earth-friendly LED lighting. LED or Light Emitting Diodes bulbs give off the same amount of light as conventional bulbs do but only use about 20 percent of energy. They can last up to 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs, and have at least twice the lifespan of the fluorescent ones.
Of the different companies that have introduced LED lighting, we like Philips as they have introduced solutions to our lighting concerns, not just products.
