Expo Mom 2015: Mommy Mission Come to Life

BLU_7255.jpg

As Cathy Eigenmann gave moms onstage a pop quiz about their parenting style at Expo Mom 2015, the mothers in the audience were taking down notes too. Though they were in the middle of a mall, in the midst of a variety of activities, these moms were focused on but one thought: What kind of children were they raising given their parenting style? Such a question of mindfulness certainly helped these moms gain a better perspective of where they are as parents and where they want to be.

As part of Expo Mom’s Mom Manifesto campaign, onstage activities included live interviews with moms on how they schedule their day and how their childhood experiences shaped their parenting styles as well as an enlightening talk on Self Care for Busy Moms by Michele S. Alignay, MA, Registered Guidance Counselor and Parenting, Relationship, and Family Life Specialist. Alignay is one of the creators of the Mom Manifesto campaign, along with Mommy Mundo Founder Janice Villanueva.

Ginger Roxas-Arzt and Chips Guevara of Childhope Asia talk about the Kindness Campaign

Moms also found a great way to teach kindness to their children through Childhope Asia’s Kindness Campaign. In partnership with Mommy Mundo, Childhope Asia has made available Kindness Cans, which children can fill up to SAVE, SPEND, and SHARE. Childhope Asia offered ideas on how kids can share with other kids.

One hundred percent of the entrance fees to Expo Mom 2015 will go to MomShare’s partner beneficiary, Childhope Asia, to benefit literacy and health programs for street kids—and Expo Mom was able to raise P116,276.45 over the weekend, thanks to the generosity of its mommy participants!

Expo Mom 2015 is co-presented by Cordlife Philippines and Johnson’s, and supported by Huggies, Cycles Mild Detergent, Fern-C, Nurture Nook, Pioneer Insurance, Moringa02, JoomaJam, Wang Videography, and ImagineNation Photography. Its media partners are Working Mom Magazine, Rappler, Celebrity Mom, Breakfast Magazine, WheninManila.com, Crossover 105.1, and Newlyweds@Work with Glorietta and Ayala Center as its venue partners.
