We’re happy to note that the Boysen KNOxOUT Project: EDSA Series is going full steam ahead. This is one of the more creative urban renewal projects that we’ve seen thus far. Just in case you don’t know about it yet, the Boysen KNOxOUT Project: EDSA Series is a large scale public art project using paint that can clean toxic air pollutants. Pillars of EDSA are transformed into works of art that can actually purify the air. How cool is that?!

The latest of the series features Singapore-born, London-based artist Erika Tan. She made use of bar charts and graphical lines of actual statistics in her art work to illustrate the pollution problem.

Explaining her work, Erika said, “Looking at the statistics globally and more locally, it’s clear that the challenges ahead for cleaner air, less pollution all round, are enormous.”

The other artists who have participated in the series are: Jose Tence Ruiz, who painted the San Lorenzo Wall; B+C Design Inc, which did the beautiful work along Ortigas-EDSA Interchange; and Tapio Snellman, who designed the EDSA Cubao Underpass.
