Breastfeeding Fashion: OOTDs from Our Favourite Celebrities

By Adrienne Sarmiento-Buenaventura

Whoever said “You can’t pour from an empty cup” hit the nail on the head.  Mothers who know how to care for themselves are more than able to offer the best care for their children.  And self-care for any strong, empowered female involves wearing the threads that make them feel good, not just look good. Breastfeeding moms these days also know this to be true. August is World Breastfeeding Month! And these Filipina celebrity moms are declaring that breast is best while looking sharply dressed!  Here are some fashion-forward ladies whose nursing OOTDs look fabulous as they are functional:

1.  Multi-hyphenate media personality and actress Solenn Heussaff in  her all-day loungewear she designed herself, with breastfeeding moms’ needs in mind, never fail to turn heads, even with her baby in tow.  This latest partnership of hers with local maternity brand Elin will surely make new nursing moms excited to dress up in these breathable, lush fabrics.

Brand: C’est La Vie by ElinXKatana

5. Perennial IT Girl and Award-winning actress Anne Curtis-Smith keeps it simple in a purple long-sleeved pull-over and shorts as she breastfeeds her daughter Dahlia.  Who says simple can’t be beautiful? Princess Velasco

6. Acoustic singer Princess Velasco chooses a multi-purpose kimono to dress up her outfit for her livestream in this photo, from @firstfruitsclothing on Instagram, a local brand that also provides PPEs and isolation brands you can use for hospital and clinic visits.  She picked out a nursing top and used the kimono as a nursing cover, which also comes with a head cover for a coordinated look.

OOTD Idea: Multi-use kimonos that easily be thrown over a tank top and jeans or leggings ensemble, which doubles as a breastfeeding cover or a scarf to keep the baby warm as he sleeps after nursing.

Kelly Misa Milk Easy

7. Model Kelly Misa looked back on her breastfeeding journey with a post on her Instagram, celebrating 4 whole years of nursing her child!

Her OOTD: Loose black pants, white sneakers, her nursing top and nursing cover from www.milkeasy.ph. She of course wore her best accessory with her outfit of the day, her winning smile.

All these moms, no matter what outfit or accessories they decided on, all have one thing in common: a selfless heart to consistently give their best to their children.  Get ideas from their put-together looks, and celebrate World Breastfeeding Month with every mom this August, and every day!
