http://www.flickr.com/photos/hypermom/9399228895/ A trip to the zoo is always a fun treat for children. At the zoo, they not only get to run around to their heart’s desire, they get to meet creatures of great beauty and magnificence as well. However, trips to the zoo are often few and far between for most families. So here’s good news: you can take your kids on virtual zoo adventures through Steve Irwin’s Wildlife Warriors.
Discovery Kids’ latest series, Steve Irwin’s Wildlife Warriors takes viewers to Australia Zoo, home of Crocodile Hunter and original Wildlife Warrior, Steve Irwin. Sprawling over 100 acres of wild bushland, the Australia Zoo in Queensland is home to over 1,000 animals.
The television show, which airs weekdays at 8 p.m. and weekends at 9:30 p.m., follows wildlife warriors Terri, Bindi, and Robert as they go about their everyday duties of caring for animals. Here, viewers will see a tiger’s tooth being extracted and a crocodile being tracked in the wild. One episode shows how the wildlife warriors take care of a koala after it was hit by a car.
Inspiring and informative, Steve Irwin’s Wildlife Warriors will make your kids love animals even more, and teach them how to appreciate and preserve the beauty of nature.
