It all started with a hint of trepidation. The moms were playing a version of bingo with each given a card with slots bearing different descriptions. They were then supposed to have the mom matching the description to sign off on it. True, the players were some of the country’s most popular mom bloggers but most of them didn’t actually know each other.
Most of the players started with the moms on their table, passing around their respective cards for signature. But soon enough, they had to reach out to the other moms. Some of them did so tentatively. Others marched on cheerily. Before long, they were all on their feet, laughing as they discovered a delightful trivia about the other. “I’ve always wanted to meet you!” “I started reading your blog years ago.” “You are my inspiration!”
The moms are at Mommy Mundo’s brunch for momfluencers, and they are having a grand time!
At the Makati Diamond Residences, some of the country’s leading mommy influencers gathered for the launch of the Momfluence Network. In her welcome remarks, Mommy Mundo Founder Janice Villanueva explained, “When we become mothers, we naturally become influencers. We not only influence the lives of our children, but we also influence the lives of those around us – our helpers at home, our colleagues at work, our friends, our neighbors, our community. We want to make the world a better place for our children, so naturally we want to do our part in making that better world happen.”
She continues, “But because of your unique place and standing, you take your influence a step further, a step out of your home and onto the homes of thousands of others. And it truly fills our heart with joy when we see you make use of your reach and influence to communicate proper information, support worthwhile causes, champion critical advocacies, and help create positive change. That’s purposeful influence – using your talents and abilities to help make the world a better place for our children and our children’s children.”
It is the hope of Mommy Mundo to encourage more and more moms to use the power of purposeful influence to make a positive difference in the lives of Filipino families through the Momfluence Network.
Janice kept her remarks short and sweet as she wanted to give more time for the moms to get to know each other. Here, she was helped by host Chal Lontoc-del Rosario, who kept the conversation going with her wit and charm. The event, which was supposed to end just a bit after lunch, continued on till the afternoon as the moms laughed and talked the hours away. Needless to say that numerous selfies were taken, enthralled as they were at getting to know each other at last. By the end of the event, the moms not only walked away with newfound friends, they also stepped into the afternoon with a renewed sense of passion and purpose.
