Mom Share 2015

DSCF2352.jpg

Famous evangelist and writer, Henry Drummond, said “ Happiness…consists in giving, and in serving others.” During the holidays, we are often swept away by the parties, preparations, decorations, and last minute shopping, that we often forget what Christmas is all about. So before we took the full plunge into the Christmas rush, last December 12 and 14, 2015, the Mommy Mundo and Creative Juice Team, together with some volunteers, took some time off to spend a day with the children of Childhope Asia Philippines in Arroceros Forest Park, Manila;

and the children of Krus Na Ligas Elementary School.

Gary Villanueva, Managing director of Creative Juice Communications, hosted and started off the program with his opening remarks. The kids were excited and waited in anticipation on what we had in store for them.

Both programs included a story telling portion. Teacher Nina and Teacher Hogi of Make Believe Productions told an original story for the children of Childhope Asia. The children were laughing their hearts out at the teacher’s funny interpretation of the story.

For the Children of Krus Na Ligas Elementary School, Teacher Dyali from Adarna House treated the children to a story entitled “Ang Mahiyaing Manok” The children were delighted with the animated and interactive way Teacher Dyali told the story.

After which, Gary had a few games lined up for the children. They played the longest “Maligayang Pasko” as well as musical chairs, where every child went home with a little token in hand.

After the main program, the entire team gave away some snacks and Ice Cream from Nestle, which the children and staff thoroughly enjoyed. It was a sweet ending to their meal. ☺

After snacks, Janice Villaueva, founder of Mommy Mundo, was asked to come up the stage to share a bit about MomShare and Mommy Mundo. She gave away a shirt to every child, that says I Am Loved, which is the message she wanted the children to remember every time.

After a quick photo opp, the children were called one by one and were given “Christmas buckets” which contained essential products for the home, including products from Havaianas, Kettle Korn, Jack & Jill Rollercoaster, Goldilocks, Scholastic, Morrison Lip Balm.

It was a blast to spend time with the children of Childhope Asia Philippines, and Krus Na Ligas Elementary School and we sincerely hope that the team was able to be a blessing to them as much as they were to us.

We would like to thank all the moms who donated during Expo Mom Holiday Edition, we were able to raise P124,999.60! P58,154.25 was used for Childhope Asia Philippines and P58,119.25 was used for the children of Krus Na Ligas. The excess funds amounting to P8,726.10 will be used for future MomShare events. We would also like to thank the following for all their support for Mommy Mundo and its MomShare efforts.

Thank you Kettle Korn for giving the children packs of popcorn; Havaianas provided flip flops for every child.

Nestle Ice Cream gave away Kimy Krazy Bananas for the children’s enjoyment; Goldilocks for giving their sweet and fluffy mammon; and Jack & Jill for giving a Rollercoaster chips for each child.

In the spirit of the MomShare Activity, Fozzy Castro-Dayrit, mom and calligrapher behind www.thefozzybook.com, hand calligraphed the words “I am Loved” to remind the children of this message.

Thank you for all your donations to MomShare, may you all be blessed beyond measure in this New Year.
