Yayas have become an indispensable part of the modern urban family. While mom and dad are hard at work, making a good living for the family, yaya is at home taking care of the kids. A graduate of Social Sciences at the University of the Philippines in Manila, Maricel earned her Master’s Degree in Family Life and Child Development at the University of the Philippines in Diliman. She has facilitated numerous yaya training seminars, which have been helpful to countless Filipino households through the years. Maricel also wrote the book, I Love You, Yaya Handbook. It is an incredibly useful guide and features an employer’s guide as well as a yaya manual.
