Since its very beginnings, Mommy Mundo has been championing and supporting mompreneurship, its founder being a mompreneur herself. In the challenging year that is 2020, Mommy Mundo is encouraging everyone to support mompreneurs. Moms that also run their own businesses have the unique challenge of taking care of an extra baby, and now–more than ever–they need the support of their communities.
ExpoMom, Mommy Mundo’s annual flagship event, is completely online this 2020, opening up the event floor to a host of expert speakers, both local and international. Covering the popular topics Mommy Mundo is known for, such as pregnancy, active parenting, mompreneurship, self-care and wellness, and breastfeeding, event attendees are in for an information-packed two days this August 29-30, 2020.
This year, ExpoMom holds the theme A Brave New Us, reflective of the challenges that the year has posed and supportive of the amazing ways both moms and dads have risen to the occasion and bravely soldiered on in the face of all the uncertainties. With no option for a physical event, ExpoMom 2020 will be held on Facebook Live, but no aspects of the event will be skipped. All that parents have come to love about ExpoMom, the expert talks, the great deals from brands and mompreneurs, the games, and the surprises, will all still take place in the digital sphere.
Mommy Mundo along with Baby Dove held an online version of the popular seminar, Infant Massage. Taught by pioneering childbirth expert, Rome Kanapi, almost 200 moms tuned in to learn about the best way to bond with your baby and stimulate their muscles and sense of touch. Kanapi, using a doll, demonstrated the best ways to massage a baby, and she encouraged moms to practice with their babies as she went through the steps.
Baby Love, one of Mommy Mundo’s most popular event series, has transitioned to the digital sphere. Held online via Google Hangouts on June 6, 2020, the event covered the topics Breastfeeding Myths and Truths, with expert Abbie Yabot, and Baby Skin Care with Dr. Nina Gabaton; hosted by Mommy Mundo Mom and Indigo Baby founder, Denise Gonzales-Bernardo.
Undoubtedly, the rules of the quarantine are hard on everyone. Having to distance from loved ones, either because of geographic or age restrictions; becoming hyper aware of hygiene and disinfection practices; and the complete change of routine are issues that already challenge adults, what more children that may not fully understand that staying home means staying safe.
The second installment of Mommy Mundo’s PedTalk series, in coordination with Sanofi Pasteur and Huggies, aired on Facebook Live on May 30, 2020. The topic was: Will My Child Fall Behind in School Because of the Pandemic. Host, Camille Prats Yambao, and guest speaker, Dra. Jocelyn A. Eusebio, an expert on developmental concerns took the over 14,000 viewers through physical, educational, psychological, and emotional challenges children might be facing at this time.
