A staunch advocate of breastfeeding worldwide, Philips participated in a number of activities that put the spotlight on this most fulfilling of motherhood experiences. First off, it supported St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City and the Philippine Pediatric Society during the First Philippine Pediatric Society Annual Breastfeeding Congress. At the Congress, the numerous issues and concerns related to breastfeeding were tackled including breastfeeding techniques, managing and increasing milk production, the role of obstetricians in breastfeeding success, and lactation postpartum care. It proved to be an enlightening two days as the country’s most distinguished professionals from the medical industry headed by Philippine Pediatric Society’s Dr. Cristina Bernardo gathered together last August 1 and 2, 2013 at the St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City.
Philips was also a partner at the World Breastfeeding Week, an art exhibit at the SM Aura Atrium. It features the works of Khristina Manansala and Raqs Molata, celebrating the joys of motherhood and breastfeeding. By participating in these activities, Philips Health and Wellness Business Development Manager Me-Ann Achacoso hopes to raise more awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding.
