When you’re a new parent more often than not, you want to tick all the baby gears your friendly internet suggests you buy. You would also likely ask your mom friends for recommendations on what to buy for your babies. And you find your excited self listing down all those baby gears one by one. It’s nice to have all those especially if budget permits, but even if you have money to splurge on them, maybe the next question you should ask yourself is, “Are these baby gears all worth it?”
The answer is no.
While each of these baby gears serves a purpose, some are not worth investing on especially if you’re only going to use it for a few months. We’ve rounded up some baby gears worth investing on. We asked a few moms to help us with this so we could help you decide too!
BABY GEARS WORTH INVESTING ON:
-
Baby Carrier – Buy a carrier that grows with your child. Usually, these are carriers that have infant inserts and could be used until your baby becomes a toddler. We think this is a good investment not only because of the length of years you could use it, but because it could also help your posture as parents carrying your child. Carriers are best used for traveling too.
-
Stroller. Like the carrier, there are quality, sturdy and compact strollers available in the market which could be used from infant up to three years of age. When carrying is not an option for you or not comfortable, then the stroller is your best friend for going out and about with your baby.
-
Car Seat. There are many types of car seats. Choose car seats that grow with your child from infant to toddler years. Make sure it also passes the international safety standards and are made of reputable brands.
-
UV Sterilizer. Any UV sterilizer may be used for almost anything. You may use it for your baby’s feeding items, toys, books and just about anything that would fit your UV sterilizer. Parents could benefit from this as well because even when your baby is no longer a baby or a toddler, there’s a sense of security having your UV Sterilizer around.
-
High Chair – The moment your baby could sit up and start to eat, you’ll need a high chair that is durable, passes international safety standards, and also could be transformed to a booster seat or activity table when your baby becomes a toddler.
-
Crib – This is a necessity which can be used from infant until the baby learns to walk.
-
Bath Tub- When you purchase one for your infant, you may want to consider its size. Your toddler will definitely appreciate a bubble bath using the same tub he used when he was still a baby.
We hope that this list helps you in deciding which gears to shop for your baby. Remember, it’s best to be practical by buying items that will grow with your baby. Happy baby gear shopping!
