Expectant couples wait excitedly for nine months to see their bundle of joy. Once the little one arrives, however, they may find themselves frazzled and frustrated. Reading about caring for baby is different from actually doing it. And parents, first-timers most especially, may get rattled with baby’s incessant cries. With such a situation in mind, Mommy Mundo introduces a new learning module for expectant parents as well as new mommies and daddies. Baby Love is a baby care workshop that brings in the experts to ensure that moms and dads take care of their babies in the best possible way.
Sharing her insights on breastfeeding is Dr. Jamie Isip Cumpas, pediatrician and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Dr. Jamie obtained her medical degree at the University of Santo Tomas and completed her lactation training at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in the United States. At Baby Love, she will talk about how infanticipating mothers can prepare to breastfeed. Dr. Jamie will also give tips on how moms can best manage the first few days of breastfeeding, and how they can continue to do so for as long as they can.
Infant massage, which brings to baby so many benefits, will be discussed by pioneering childbirth educator Rome Kanapi. A certified childbirth educator under the Philippine Association for Childbirth Education (PACE) and a member of the International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA), Rome has been giving valuable assistance to expectant parents since 1981.
There will also be a session on baby skin care and bathing to be facilitated by experts from Belo Baby.
The workshop is free but pre-registration is required. Click here for registration information.
