As we wrap up 2020, let’s take a look back at the past year when we made time for what matters…
Safehouse Keeps Your Keepsakes
Longtime Mommy Mundo partner, Safehouse provides affordable storage solutions of all sizes and for all budgets. Now, those of us living in smaller homes or apartments need not worry about having to throw things away or about having that one part of the home where items are just piling up one on top of the other and causing clutter. At Safehouse, you can begin your storage solution for as low as Php2,000.00 a month for a locker, which holds 8 balikbayan boxes, or go all the way up to a 50cbm unit for Php11,000.00 a month and hold enough for a three bedroom apartment.
The Conflict Between Plantation Bay Resort & Children With Special Needs
The recent social media storm that rallied behind Mai Pages against an insensitive post by a resident shareholder of Plantation Bay has brought a spotlight to the community of parents of children with autism. The uproar forced Plantation Bay’s Manny Gonzalez to retract his initial insensitive post on Tripadvisor and apologise to the special needs community as well as all parents and parties offended by his words.
Conscious Parenting Recap: Drop the Shoulds!
In Conscious Parenting’s December session, Kit encouraged parents to “drop the shoulds” or to be aware of what expectations we are placing on our children, and how these expectations might actually be what we had expected from our inner children or from our own parents when we were growing up. Yes, what we think should be isn’t necessarily what is healthiest or best for our children!
Mom Spotlight: Pamela Gotangco Hupp
On November 11, 2020 a just-turned eight-year-old boy received the most unique present: a kettcar freshly clad in carefully constructed cardboard boxes to make it look like an F1 racing car. Not just any F1 racing car, but the 2014 Red Bull car driven by Sebastian Vettel. Maximilian Aurich Hupp was so overwhelmed, he closed his eyes, characteristic of some with Autism Spectrum Disorder. His mother, Filipina artist Pamela Gotangco Hupp also felt her heart swell. At last! A birthday present she was certain he loved.
Love & Light in Time for Christmas!
Mommy Mundo heralds the season with ExpoMom 2020: Love & Light Mama!
On November 28-29, 2020, Mommy Mundo held its second online ExpoMom event of the year, titled ExpoMom2020: Love & Light, Mama! A response to the challenges brought about by 2020, the two-day event focused on self-love and self-care, encouraging moms (and dads) to return to their centre and find peace within themselves so that they may encourage and instill peace in their homes despite the uncertainties that continue to plague the world during this time.
Baby Dove: Baby Care for Daddies
During a special Baby Dove sponsored event, Dr. Miguel Villanueva, a general pediatrician trained in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, talked about Baby Care for Daddies, presenting dads with three main points all dads need to keep in mind.
Baby Hugs: How Your Baby Learns About the World
This November, Mommy Mundo and Huggies Philippines collaborated to bring to the platform a special presentation and discussion on the topic of how babies learn about the world. Guest speaker and Montessori teacher, Ghia Curtis, talked about sensory development and how what babies learn is directly related to their senses and to honing those senses. A period of massive learning from sensory development and honing happens from the ages of zero to six.
