Expo Mom 2021: Meaningful Connections!

Expo Mom 2021: Meaningful Connections, Mommy Mundo’s second Expo Mom of the year, was held on August 14-15, 2021 online via Facebook Live. The event was watched by about 13,000 moms and dads from all over the Philippines, and parts of Europe and America. For two days, Mommy Mundo delivered insightful talks, panel discussions, and mini-seminars all geared towards their monthly theme of helping moms Mind Your Mind and use technology to develop and nurture meaningful connections.

Hosted by Patricia Hizon, the first day was opened by Mommy Mundo founder, Janice Villanueva, who explained the theme of Meaningful Connections. The day proceeded with talks from Ethel Bernales (who spoke about energy management for better relationships); the Sanofi sponsored segment looked at family health activities at home and was covered by a lively panel consisting of Michelle Adrillana, Mafae Yunon-Belasco, April Perreras, and Dr. Anelyn Reyes; Establishing Meaningful Connections with Your Child was Jeannie Castillo’s Baby Dove sponsored talk; while Audrey Dimarucot and Eliza Santiago talked about the experience of single parenting. The last two talks of the day were about making moments count (with Carelle Mangaliag Herrera) and inter and intra personal relationships (with Tina de Guzman). Throughout the day, Mommy Mundo team members, Eli and Ina, led three flash sale segments where the audience got to know some of the mompreneurs that have long been a part of the Mommy Mundo community.

On Day 2, standout segments included Google’s talk on keeping kids safe online, presented by Genevieve Puyat, and PLDT Home’s making connections smarter and easier at home with Sheena Gonzalez, Mabel Sunga, and Finina Tugade-Castillo. Other talks included influencers Bianca Reinoso and Kelly Misa (why moms need their girlfriends), Inaki Llamas, Erron Ocampo, and Gary Villanueva for Daddy Mundo’s Making the Daddy Connection, Jill Tan who talked about teaching children healthy social skills in these times, and Omni and Bryce Larrosa for preserving family memories in the digital age.

Because August is breastfeeding month, the Expo wouldn’t be complete without a breastfeeding talk. Led by lactation expert, Abbie Yabot, and participated guests award winning singer Sitti Navarro and Charyze Solomon,
