The most wonderful time of the year is also the most colorful one, and nowhere is this truer than at the Grand Festival of Lights Parade at SM Mall of Asia. Happening on December 5, 12, 19, and 25 at 5:30 PM, the parade features beloved symbols of the holiday season. Sanrio’s most popular characters, Hello Kitty and My Melody, make a gracious appearance too!

You and and your children will definitely get a sense of wonder and excitement as floats lit from within roll in bearing Santa Claus with an assortment of gigantic gifts. There’s a float with colorful Christmas ornaments, another filled with teddy bears and toys, and still another with a giant snowman! A crowd favorite are the Santa Claus rockers bedecked with musical instruments. In between the floats, dancers dressed as candy canes, Christmas trees, snowmen, and gingerbread cookies step cheerfully into the limelight.

SM Mall of Asia’s Grand Festival of Lights Parade starts at the North Arcade and ends at Seaside Boulevard. Come half an hour before the parade begins so that you and your children can enjoy a good vantage point along the route. A good view may also be had from the second floor of North Arcade. This is advisable for families with very young children, who may not be comfortable in large crowds.
