We’ve been using different apps to help us fulfill our different roles at home—order food, book a car, budget family finances, make shopping lists, organize files, track medications, and monitor baby, among many others.
What’s great about technology is it also gives us a hand in taking care of ourselves. Here are five wellness apps which help moms deal with stress, find time for workouts, get a good night’s sleep, and break bad habits.
If you’re feeling stressed and overwhelmed: BALANCE
The demands of motherhood can get overwhelming. The Balance app, which functions like a personal meditation coach, could help you relax and increase your focus. Each day, you answer questions about your meditation experience, goals, and challenges. The more you share about yourself, the more personalized and effective your meditation becomes. With a growing library of materials, you’ll find that there’s always one for every mood.
Balance lets you track your progress when it comes to your meditation skills, and allows you to manage your stress levels by simply tuning in and hitting play.
If you’re too busy to work out: ALO MOVES
Squeezing in time for a sweat sesh can be challenging if your schedule is jam-packed. The Alo Moves app is a great fitness companion as it lets you find a video that suits your needs depending on how much time you have to spare. It has classes for all levels, may it be yoga, HIIT and bodyweight workouts, barre, Pilates, and more. You can practice anywhere with its growing library of online fitness, skill, and meditation videos by world-class instructors. Choose by instructor, style, difficulty, intensity, or duration. You can even select the music that accompanies your videos.
If you’d rather do your workout elsewhere: CLASSPASS
Working out at home is easy when you have a space all to yourself. But this isn’t always the case. For moms who’d rather have a change of scenery, Classpass is your best bet.
Book an in-studio or at-home class from a wide selection of partners membership-free, or book a salon or spa appointment for that long-awaited relaxation.
If you’re having trouble getting your zzzs: CALM
Moms shouldn’t forget to catch up on sleep. Refuel with quality rest by using the Calm app.
Reduce stress before bed through guided meditations, breathing and stretching exercises, relaxing music, or the soothing voice of celebrities like Harry Styles, Matthew McConaughey, and Jake Gyllenhaal, as they read you bedtime stories.
If you want to break a bad habit: HABIT – DAILY TRACKER
Create healthy routines by setting goals, tracking your progress, and motivating yourself through streaks. Become the version of you that makes a positive change for a healthier and happier life.
