Just a year ago many office-bound moms dreamed of becoming work-from-home moms. For many, 2020 gave them their wish! Working from home is now the new way of working. Many companies have fully transitioned and adjusted their office operations to include (or in some cases solely be) home-based work. In turn, many moms have adjusted their lives to this new way of working and being–mom + career woman 24/7 and all in one place.
For those of us who haven’t yet adjusted or are still looking for best practices, Mommy Mundo has come up with the five must-haves for work-from-home moms, based on what we’ve heard from our mom community!
1. A Planner
Yes, there are a lot of activity trackers and productivity tools out there, but for some (many moms included) nothing beats a good old fashioned planner. Not only does it help keep track of multiple to dos (can’t always put your personal to do lists on productivity tools), but it also gives the eyes a break from the screen–something almost everyone needs these days!
Every year Mommy Mundo creates a special planner with moms in mind, and this 2021 was no exception. The Mommy Mundo 24/7 Planner is still available online!
2. Essential Oils
Having everything that needs to be done and everything that is fun to do under one roof is a challenge! Being able to focus can be tricky in the face of all of this. Many moms have come to create a system or relaxation ritual that helps them focus. For some it’s an essential oil roller or a perfectly curated space, for others it’s a cup of tea!
Try out the A+ Attention Roller to help improve focus while doing work and home tasks.
3. Baby Wipes
EVERY mom’s must-have no matter where she finds herself! On the go, in the office, at home in the home office, moms need baby wipes! One never knows when a spill might happen or when something needs to be cleaned. Having them right on hand makes things much easier!
Sticking to organic baby wipes are usually the way to go! That way moms can be worry free about what they may be wiping onto their babies!
4. Busy Sign
All work-from-home moms need a signal that tells their kids (and partners!) that they cannot be disturbed. Some moms wear crowns, some moms hang an ornament on the door, others tell their kids that when the earphones or headphones are on, then it’s quiet time. Whatever system works, implementing one will definitely help focus and productivity!
5. Slow Cooker or Crock Pot
Working from home and caring for kids all day can mean that some household chores fall to the wayside. One easy fix in the kitchen is to use a slow cooker! Moms can set up a meal in the morning, and eight hours later it will be ready to eat for an early dinner. These meals can also make it to leftovers for lunch the next day, which means there really is only one meal to worry about–breakfast!
