PLDT Rediscovers Learning at ExpoMom 2020

ExpoMom, Mommy Mundo’s flagship event, was held online, on August 29 and 30, for the first time in its 12-year history.  The two-day online conference welcomed 800 attendees into Mommy Mundo’s by-invitation only or by-ticket only Facebook Live video.  Being online, the event allowed a more international audience as well as international speakers, many of whom are well known among mommy communities worldwide.

As part of the conference, Mommy Mundo teamed up with PLDT Home Fibr to give a special talk, titled Nurturing Our Learners.  The discussion, hosted and moderated by Riki Flores, centred on the presentations of Teachers Ani Almario and Tina Zamora. Good friends and co-authors of a new book on progressive education titled School is Life, Ani Almario and Tina Zamora both founded schools. The former is the  founder and school director of the Raya School while also being a large part of the publishing house Adarna Books. The latter is the founder and school directress of The Nest School. Both made waves for having led their schools successfully through the transition to online learning during these quarantine times, and for actively helping other schools do the same through various webinars held over the past couple of months.

This made both school founders perfect for the collaboration with PLDT Home Fibr, which just launched a campaign called “Rediscover What Matters, Rediscover Learning,” aimed to be a service to all the moms, dads, and kids who are now staying at home and learning and working at home.  The campaign encourages a redefinition of relationships to help create deeper emotional bonds in the family by rediscovering one’s strongest connections at home, and by doing so rediscovering what truly matters.

In the talk, both Teachers Ani and Tina discussed how school year 2020-2021 is so different for everyone: parents, children, AND schools.  They recognised how crucial a time this was for all parties and how crucial a time it is to instill an importance and love for learning among children and parents.

As part of their campaign, PLDT Home Fibr has endeavoured to be every mom’s partner as they Rediscover Learning through Tech Enabled Parenting, helping mom’s bridge a crucial gap in their child’s education and give them the confidence to drive their children’s learning, making sure they continue to learn. An empowering campaign for work-from-home-and-homeschooling moms, PLDT Home Fibr allows families to Rediscover What Matters and #RediscoverParentingAtHome by staying well connected online.

For the month of September, PLDT Home Fibr teams up with Mommy Mundo even further to bring two events, both geared towards learning and rediscovery at home. Stay tuned to Mommy Mundo Facebook and Instagram pages for more details and sign up and register here!
